The Birco TT 1000 Vacuum Excavator has already gained much interest amongst the UK major contractors and local authorities for its ability to greatly increase productivity over traditional hand dig or mini-digger methods. In recent trails an exploratory dig to allow identification of unknown services in a class A trunk road showed the TT 1000 Vacuum Excavator reduced the time on site from 2 days to just 2 hours. This also has the associated benefits of reducing traffic management costs, disruption to the highway, operator safety and services protection.
The unique Birco Interceptor System maintains clean, sealed recovery of the material for recycling or disposal.
Traditional exploritory excavation techniques, even when used with ground penetrating radar or cable avoidance tools can expose ground workers to risk of injury and in many cases lead to project delays and expensive repair bills from service providers for the damage caused by operatives to repair their services.
